@mayadeenenglish: Mass demonstrations swept across France over the rising cost of living, with the General Confederation of Labour (CGT) estimating that around 800,000 people took part nationwide, including 250,000 in Paris. Meanwhile, the French Interior Ministry gave a lower figure of 410,000 demonstrators across Paris and other cities. Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in Paris reported clashes between police and protesters in the capital, with arrests reported. Our correspondent also reported injuries among protesters and cases of suffocation after police fired tear gas. However, unlike last week, no attacks on public property or looting were reported. Separately, AFP reported that a young man sustained a serious hand injury during clashes at a demonstration in Toulouse. #FranceProtests #ParisProtests #France #Paris #Toulouse #AlMayadeen #AlMayadeenEnglish
