@sharrellsworld: DALLAS SWAT STANDOFF ON HIGHWAY OVERPASS ENDS IN TRAGEDY (Credit: Viral Video / Local Dallas Reports) A tragic scene unfolded in southern Dallas on Thursday afternoon after a two-hour standoff between police and a man on an elevated overpass ended in heartbreak. The incident completely shut down the major interchange between Interstate 45 and Interstate 20 as emergency crews and SWAT negotiators rushed to the bridge. In viral video filmed from below, heavily armed SWAT officers were lined up by their cruisers talking to the man who was standing right on the edge of the barrier! Negotiators tried to talk him down for over two hours, but he unfortunately leaped from the bridge. Dallas police confirmed he was pronounced dead at the scene. The video has sparked a huge discussion online about crisis intervention tactics and whether departments need different equipment when dealing with elevated bridges.
