I’m thinking about starting the program as a retail financial advisor for the last 5 years. I know an advisor at my firm in a different group who is a charterholder and he doesn’t have to look for clients because he manages money for other advisors’ clients in discretionary sleeves for 25% of the advisory fees. My group doesn’t have any charter holders, I already manage money for my own clients and somewhat for shared clients, and I think a CFA charter could expand my joint-work opportunities so maybe I too could scale my work through multi-client/account sleeve trading for other advisors for a fee. What are your thoughts on people outside investment banking such as retail brokers/advisors like me going that route?
