@earthsignalofficial: October 24, 2026 | France Protests have returned across France under heavy security. More than 70,000 police and gendarmes were deployed, 20% more than last weekend, and at least 135 people had been arrested by Saturday afternoon. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said there had been "no major incident," and police seized items that could be used as weapons, including metal balls, fireworks, slingshots and a katana. Thousands marched in Paris, with businesses boarded up and at least 24 metro stations closed. Tear gas was used in Lyon, Lille and Marseille, and authorities banned non-union protests in several cities. The movement began in mid-September with high school students protesting school conditions, and it has widened into anger over the cost of living. Last Saturday's protests drew more than half a million people before turning to looting and clashes, with more than 2,700 arrests. Unions plan a nationwide strike on November 5. #France #Paris #Protests #Macron #EarthSignal
