when i was 10 my 8yo cousin dropped my favorite mug once while our moms were downstairs and he froze so bad and our eyes locked and I guess he was expecting me to be so angry about it. I froze because I was waiting to see if our moms heard and I realized they didn't, I told him it was fine and to stay quiet while I cleaned it up and as I was doing that I realized "how come im not angry? its a mug I liked." but the anger just wouldn't come and thats the first time I realized it wasnt normal to feel immediate anger and want to beat a kid over an accident and that my Mom didn't always know best

Becomming a mother, I understood mine less and less. My son is allowed to not finish all of his food. He eats when he wants to and in whatever amount. He stops eating when he is FULL.
