@kingdomsports74: 20-year-old college football player Ben Conken recently passed away following a devastating battle with cancer that kept him from starting his college football career. Conken died on August 17, 2026, after battling cancer for more than two years. The former Cottage Hill Christian Academy standout earned a scholarship to the University of West Florida in 2024 but was diagnosed shortly after joining the program. Despite undergoing treatment and never getting the opportunity to play in a college game, Conken remained a devoted supporter of his teammates. His former high school coach, Carvel Jones, remembered him as a fierce competitor who always had a smile on his face, even during his illness. West Florida honored him with a touching message: “He will forever remain a member of this team and an Argo for life.” Rest in peace, Ben. Gone far too soon. 🙏 #CollegeFootball #BenConken #RIP (Via FOX10/WKRG)
