I own visitor cottages. We have a limit of 6 people per cottage. I can’t tell you how many times people have told me “yeah we are 6” then I ask how many adults and how many children ? And they say 6 adults and 4 children. Sooooo you’re 10 people. When I say sorry that is too many they say don’t worry. The kids will sleep on the floor. NOOOOO.

Used to drive me crazy when they would make a reservation for 4 and show up with 8 because they didn’t count the children. Ma’am there is a huge difference between 4 and 8!!

haha yes in the hotel industry we have the same problem. people don't count kids under 3 as people here and do not understand that 6 souls in a room that can only hold 5 souls AS PER FIRE STANDARDS means that two adults and 4 kids is too many for the room. Ugh people.

when I worked for an Eaton Park years ago in a different County than I live. I had a woman similar. she had 16 in her party. I told her it would be about 40 minute wait. because most of all the tables around except for the big ones were full and I only have one 10 top. she called the manager and he agreed to let the kids sit on their laps or sit on the floor. that was my last day there
