It's up to $6,800 lifetime if the change is for a service-connected condition, or for any condition if you're rated 50% or higher. Everyone else enrolled in VA health care gets up to $2,000. The big one: it has to be approved BEFORE the work starts, or the VA won't pay for it. Renters qualify with the landlord's OK. Stairlifts, hot tubs and portable ramps aren't covered.
