I had the sweetest sub in high school that had known me from freshman all the way through sr year. He saw me at my lowest. I asked him for a letter of recommendation for my college application. When he gave it to me he said: “You have no clue how proud I am of you! Watching you navigate life and high school. At one point I thought you would be in jail and not graduate. But now I get the honor to write your letter. I am beyond proud of you and look forward to the amazing things you will accomplish in life.” No I didn’t end up going to college instead I became a mom, to kiddos in the spectrum. And I found my voice to Advocate for them and help other parents navigate the special needs world. It’s where my soul is the happiest. Thank you Mr. Jerry- you have no idea but you saved me. Your belief of me saved me from me.

My sixth grade teacher told me that I was going to amount to nothing. I currently work for my local government under the public health department and I got a law passed last year. I’m working on my second law for the upcoming legislative session for 2027 and I have aspirations to work for my state government and eventually hopefully under a presidential administration. Congratulations 🎉

Actually, if your language arts teacher said “wouldn’t amount to nothing”, the conceptual interpretation would be “would amount to something”. The use of wouldn’t (would not) and nothing negate each other.
