I used to work for Wendy’s and only store managers can right up shift leads and shift leads can’t write up other shift leads bc we are all on the same pedestal seems logical right- WRONG wait until yall work with someone who’s so miserable that they target ‘weaker’ shift leads AND CREW (to the point they voiced to me they are kinda scared of her) she tried to write me up (I was the youngest shift lead and I was hired in as a manger bc I had 5 years food experience plus as soon as I was 18 I was immediately promoted to a manager of another establishment and a few months later the assistant manager looks great on my resume) moral of the story she tried me and lost big I was the wrong person to try just bc I’m young don’t mean that I’m ‘weak’

This drives me nuts. In a job where the schedule varies, once a schedule is posted, people make plans accordingly! If you make changes after that, you need to ASK or at the very least, give them plenty of notice and make sure they are fully aware of the changes. Gah!

If I need to give 2 weeks notice for time off, you should give me two weeks notice if my days off are changing. (Of course exceptions for emergencies but it's a two way street. If I get in trouble for doing a thing, but I also get in trouble when you do the same thing, that is not fair)

as a manager you need to actively schedule people by TALKING to them. not just assuming they're free and scheduling them on their day off with no notice.

I was supposed to work sunday night last week. my supervisor never told me I was scheduled to work on my regular day off, and when he called me to ask if I was coming in I was actually in the ER because my husband has a herniated disk in his back. my supervisor wrote me up, so I asked if I could have FMLA and gave him the documentation that my husband got from being in the ER.

I was told once the same thing by a manager. I submitted on call pay for all my time not at work due to needing to watch the schedule. Hundreds of hours . Manager stopped that nonsense.

I worked at a place that would do constant last minute schedule changes. I would screenshot my schedule, and it would change quite literally over night. I ended up missing a once in a life time opportunity because of that and I quit very soon after.
