NEVERRRRR disclose any type of past or present emotional, mental, physical abuse or trauma with pain management!!Stick to what you’re seeing them for and that only!

Ladies serious question how does sexual trauma from the past have anything to do with a medical condition causing pain. Before anyone gets offended I’m asking this politely and respectfully I’m not being cheesy or disrespectful I just don’t understand the doctors process of thought.

I learned early on that was a trick to label you a seeker. Unless you’re my therapist, you don’t need to know.

Buprenophrine patches helped my chronic pain so much without giving the high of pills, and I’m currently tapering off 5mcg a week with no withdrawals (due to needing a sleep study). Idk what you have been told but it’s a partial opiate agonist that still acts on opiate receptors just without the euphoria effects and if anything they made me constipated as fuck. I was tired of needing pills almost every other day for my endometriosis and back pain, it was so nice having something last a whole week. I’m more concerned about coming off of Cymbalta because those withdrawals are fucked up tbh

Bupenorphin is a first line pain management medication. And every doctor I’ve ever been a patient of has required an extensive history. I don’t know what you’re getting at here.

Actually sexual trauma can cause chronic pain, as can severe depression

God Belbuca (basically the same thing) is the fucking worst. My doctor lied and told me it wasn’t an opioid. That’s a monumentally important distinction for me because I am life threateningly sensitive to opioids. I’ve overdosed twice before in the hospital bc I was given IV opioids without being told what they were/that they were opioids. So I tried Belbuca. I had opioid toxicity by the end of the week and I was having mini overdoses/on the verge of overdosing every time I took it. It was *just* shy of a full one, but I would go unconscious and *could not* be woken up, and if I could, I was severely delirious. It fucked with my bladder and kidneys so bad I developed an asymptomatic UTI/bladder infection that turned into a life threatening kidney infection, which was masked for two weeks by how severe the Belbuca withdrawals were bc I had to switch rather quickly. Hell, maybe I’ll work for some, but my advice is stay far away from Belbuca/bupenorphine. I’m unnaturally sensitive to narcotics/opioids, but the vast majority of reviews on it say the same, just at a slightly lighter scale. Didn’t even touch my pain in the slightest btw, and instead caused more. And headaches and such severe nausea I couldn’t eat.

and its way harder to come off of then pain meds. more addictive and doesn't touch alot of chronic pain. rots your teeth. I have read so many people have issues and side effects then was told its almost impossible to come off of. So why are they trying to give it out like its safe

The starting about a year and a half ago the questionnaire at my pain management appointment changed.I asked if I had any sexual trauma. If I had any trauma as a child, and roughly how many times was I traumatized. Every single month. It's wonderful to relive that shit each month

Never say yes. Even if you were. You won’t get what you need.

I hate to say it, but you can’t be entirely honest in pain management about your childhood and life trauma. You get flagged as a potential for abusing your medication an are treated differently. They’re definitely over correcting and causing a lot of anguish to pain patients. I’ve been lucky to find a wonderful doctor but i had so many bad experiences before finding him

I never answer those questions and I call them out on being unprofessional unless it's a woman Dr and there's a reason she is asking such as stress or partner etc safety

Suboxone is the only thing that covers my depression.... does anyone say hey when ya getting off your blood pressure meds cause exercise can help? nope so what's the issue being on a med that helps with damage done due to abusing opiates cause the damage needs to be fixed... in some cases serotonin issues are the main problem and Suboxone helps fix that.

I get bupe doesn’t work for some, but it has been a life saver for me. I’m allergic to opioids and the bupe patch saved me. I have trigeminal neuralgia, fibromyalgia, and Eds. I would tell people to try it before turning it down. You never know what works for you.
