Yes! Spot on. I relate to this so much. I also think about the love bombing stage. They know what they are doing because they didn’t act cruel when they were love bombing you and trying to hook you into a relationship with them because they know you’d run away. They take off their mask when they know you’re fully invested, committed and usually when you have your life entangled with them somehow so it’s not easy for you to just walk away
