People have told me to walk away from situations, but I'm hard-headed. I give people the benefit of the doubt more than I should, but that's just me. I can't change that, especially when it comes to certain situations and people in my life. When you love someone, it's not always because they deserve it, but because we are all human. We all have shortcomings, we all make mistakes, and we all have different paths in life. I believe my path has always been to make sure that a closing door truly needs to be closed, and that it's not just deception. Some doors are meant to stay open for love to grow, for lessons to be learned, and for love to deepen—not just between two people, but through God's grace of forgiveness and mercy, which we all fall short of. My prayers are always with the father of my kids. That door will never completely close because the love of my children for him exists. So, I must keep that door open so he can see he is loved and needed by the very little people he helped me create. That's love. It’s easy to be angry at the damage he did and how he hurt me throughout the years. But it’s so nice to see him talking to the kids and how much their faces light up when they talk. That, my friend, is the sacrifice a mother makes for her kids, so they know dad loves them and still comes around. Even when he has his own issues, I don't hold it against him. Does he make me mad? Yes, but that's the part that will eventually sort itself out, because nothing is ever what it seems! Take care, bubba. God will do whatever needs to be done in your situation; it’s not up to me. But the kids love you, always feel their love.
