@mayan_flame_usa: Don’t mind my attempt to make my content more digestible with edits. It’s not attention I seek, I wish people connected with what K’iche’ and many indigenous languages have to offer, the different worldviews we all could have… In English you say: “Does anybody have any questions?” In Spanish it’s the same: “¿Alguien tiene alguna pregunta?” But in Maya K’iche’ we say: “La k’awaj kak’ot nu tzij?” It literally means: “Do you want to dig through my words?” English opens space for questions. K’iche’ does that too — but it also does something more. It places the speaker as accountable and humble. As open to fact-checking, corroboration, and correction. It opens the door to veracity and reliability, not just doubt. One language says “any questions?” The other says “please, dig through what I just said and tell me where I’m wrong.” That’s the type of leadership we need. La k’awaj kak’ot nu tzij? Do you want to dig through my words? #MayaKiche #Kiche #DecolonizeLanguage #Maya #IndigenousWisdom
