Prophet Muhammad wanted to avoid unnecessary bloodshed, so he instructed his army not to fight unless they were attacked. The Muslim army entered Mecca from different directions, and most of the city surrendered with very little fighting. This made the conquest different from many other military victories of that time. After entering the city, Prophet Muhammad went to the Kaaba, the most sacred place in Islam. At that time, many idols were kept inside and around the Kaaba, and people worshipped them. Prophet Muhammad ordered the idols to be removed, restoring the Kaaba to its role as a place dedicated to the worship of Allah alone. He also reminded the people that truth had come and falsehood had disappeared. The conquest was not only a political and military victory but also a religious turning point. Mecca, which had once been a center of opposition to Islam, became the spiritual center of the Muslim community. Many people witnessed the peaceful entry of the Muslims and began to understand the importance of Prophet Muhammad's message. ### 3\. Forgiveness and the Importance of the Conquest One of the most remarkable aspects of the Conquest of Mecca was Prophet Muhammad's forgiveness toward the people who had opposed and harmed him in the past. Many of the people of Mecca had persecuted Muslims, forced them to leave their homes, and fought against them in earlier battles. However, after gaining control of the city, Prophet Muhammad did not seek revenge against the majority of its inhabitants. Instead, he offered them forgiveness and safety, showing mercy to people who had once been his enemies. This act demonstrated his values of compassion, humility, and justice. After the conquest, many people in Mecca accepted Islam, and the influence of Islam spread throughout the Arabian Peninsula. Different tribes began to establish peaceful relations with the Muslim community, and Mecca became an important center for Islamic worship and learning. The conquest also strengthened the position of Medina and united many Arab tribes under the growing Muslim community. The Kaaba remained the central destination of pilgrimage for Muslims, and the city of Mecca became the holiest city in Islam. Today, the Conquest of Mecca is remembered as a major historical event that teaches important lessons about forgiveness, peaceful leadership, patience, and the importance of avoiding unnecessary violence.
