Sign it or not. At will employers can fire you for nothing, give no reason. You’ll get unemployment but they can fire you for anything. If you refuse they can fire you anyway.

You can refuse to sign without it being considered insubordination. This guy is wrong. A company cannot force you to sign any document. You are not willing to sign. Does it mean you could still be terminated yes. But never sign anything that you don’t agree with do not write down a sentence. Don’t write down why you don’t agree with it. Don’t write anything. It’s really hard to prove the company even served you that right up if you don’t respond to it, therefore they can’t use it against you in legal way, which could also be used against you in unemployment if you do sign it even in an Atwell state.

I don’t agree with you. Your signature is your intellectual property. You don’t have to sign anything, and cannot be assumed as insubordinate. Its incumbent on the employer to identify what their document does or don’t do.

Oh I refused to sign until it accurately reflected what they were saying I had done. Because it was a lie. I got fired a month later but honestly that was the best thing to ever happen to me

I remember a manager wanted me to sign a write up. There was one word that threw the whole write up off. I put a line through it and was writing something on the paper and he snatched it from me. I never got a call to HR!😁

Not necessarily. We’ve termed people who sign them and won unemployment claims for performance, especially if they don’t put any effort into it. Signing only acknowledges the conversation took place.

Nooooo! that wont go away and still be used against you. I use the law against company policy if you know how to do it right by asking 2 questions and writing it down on the write up. got so many bs write ups voided because company dont want a lawsuit.
