COPY & SEND - Dear Texas Department of Public Safety Inspector General, I am writing to respectfully request an independent review of the investigation into the death of Adrian Sue Thompson in Lindale, Texas. I recently learned of concerns raised by Adrian’s family regarding how the investigation was conducted, specifically allegations that no interviews were conducted with school staff and that the case was closed without being presented to the District Attorney. If these concerns are accurate, they raise serious questions about the thoroughness and transparency of the investigation. I respectfully urge DPS leadership to review the investigative process and consider assigning an independent investigator outside of Smith County to ensure that all relevant evidence, witnesses, and circumstances surrounding Adrian’s death have been thoroughly examined. Regardless of whether criminal charges are ultimately warranted, Adrian and her family deserve a complete, fair, and impartial investigation. I hope the Department will take these concerns seriously and provide Adrian’s family with the transparency, accountability, and answers they deserve. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I am a teacher. And I am infact trained in cpr and first aid. It’s mandatory. So why didn’t anyone have this skill to know what to look for or see the warning signs? Justice for Adrian.

I only worked at a school for a week but what I can say that if I was on cafe duty and a child came up to me in distress pointing at their throat panicked I wouldn’t be as calm as those ladies and I ALSO wouldn’t let them go to the nurse on their OWN. they would’ve got either me or a buddy to go with them. How no one had a sense of urgency irked me big time and they don’t need to be in charge of the life of other children

They had a nurse in the school and they didn’t call her to the cafeteria? Instead they blew Adrian off as she tried to get the adult to help her. And the ICU nurse that messaged you. Shame on him, if he watched that video and had that to say he probably shouldn’t be a nurse because I’m an RN and there were steps those adults should have taken. I am so sorry you are going through this.

💔💔 She did everything right and was absolutely failed by the people who were responsible to keep her safe when she’s at school. She was so clearly in distress and it broke my heart and makes me so mad how not a single adult present didn’t see that. It blows my mind that her death isn’t being investigated at all and that not a single adult at that school was interviewed because police should have determined whether or not they did everything appropriately when addressing your daughter’s medical emergency especially when it ultimately resulted in her death. From videos it’s very clear there was negligence to some degree and the outcome for your daughter could have been different if they acted more appropriately and more urgently
