I see what RDU looks like on the news and I learned years ago you be there 3 or 4 hours ahead of your flight because you never know what is going to happen. for me it was almost every single trip my luggage was opened up because I carried a bowling ball on the plane in my carry-on. they have now stopped that in my bowling ball goes into my checked bag.

I fly out of OMA - I've never had more than a 15min wait - and I *STILL* get there an hour and a half early. Growing up flying out of ORD/MDW trained me well.
