@autosave.ascii: Star gazers - His dad had told us not to stay out later than eleven, it was definitely the middle of summer as it only started to get truly dark around that time. I remember us laying on the grass in his back garden and looking up at the stars, my friend started to point out constellations to me, or so I thought at the time. He showed me something that, to be fair, did look like a plough. I remember him pointing at an area of the sky he said was Venus, im pretty sure he was actually pointing at a plane but I didn't say anything. Not wanting to look like the dumb one, I found a cluster of stars and confidently declared that as "The Dog". Well it was clear he didn't know much about astonomy as he nodded along in thought as I traced the outline of a very perculiar looking shape with my finger. You know, its very funny the things you remember from your childhood that seem to always make it through 20 or so years later. I was parked up in my car the other evening and had briefly stepped out to take in some of the cool winter air, I looked upwards and remembered back to that memory, clear as the night sky.
