@redhouseelectric: Would this attic wiring pass inspection? A lot of electricians run Romex across attic joists, but there’s a rule that can catch you off guard. Under 2023 NEC 334.23 and 320.23(A), cables crossing framing members near an attic entrance may need guard strips. If there’s no permanent stairs or ladder, the protection requirement extends 6 feet from the attic entrance.
