@go.with.coco: What happens if you get quarantined on a Royal Caribbean cruise? Great question… because that literally happened to us LAST WEEK. Getting sick on vacation is never part of the plan, and hearing that medical wants you to quarantine can definitely feel overwhelming. But I’m happy to share that Royal Caribbean made a not-so-fun situation as comfortable as possible! 💙 The crew was incredibly attentive, checking in on us and making sure we were doing okay. 🍽️ The BEST part? FREE room service for the entire duration of our quarantine! 👏🏼 ⏰ After 24 hours, we were cleared and able to enjoy the final night of our cruise! Obviously, getting sick on vacation isn’t ideal, but we truly appreciated how Royal Caribbean took care of us throughout the experience. And don’t worry, Royal Caribbean… we’re not staying away for long! We’re excited to be back onboard the Legend of the Seas in just a couple of weeks! 🚢 @Royal Caribbean #royalcaribbean #cruise #quarantine #cruisetips #traveladvisor
that happened to me, in addition to the sea pass restriction they put an orange marker above our door. and we were supposed to disembark the next day and they wouldn't let me leave until every last person was off the ship.

Someone pooped in the pool and they cancelled the belly flop competition.

Had a similar experience last month on a cruise when I tested positive for flu A &B and an ear infection. Got put into isolation for 4 days. Medical was super great, and they took great care of me. I got cleared the last night but I was coughing so bad I didn't want to freak out the whole boat! I also wasn't as sad as I could have been as we were going on another cruise just 6 weeks later.

The Flu is respiratory. Gastrointestinal illnesses- are stomach bugs.

GI= gastrointestinal illness. Not the same as the flu. It’s centered around the stomach and includes symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting, and fever. It’s typically spread through surface and food contact and is very contagious, especially on ships. The most common ones seen on cruise ships is norovirus.
