A lung can collapse at anytime for any reason. Most times it’s from people coughing hardcore. I’ve had two collapsed lungs due to coughing and being too skinny. Yes being too skinny can get you a collapsed lung, your rib can poke a hole… mine apparently did. I’ve met smokers who never got cancer and died smoking at the age of 90 something. It is all random genetic issues and added environmental problems.
