LOOK AT THIS COLOR ARE YOU KIDDING?!? My favorite part of making a tincture is seeing the color the liquid turns from the herbs. I used the folk method for this rose tincure. Rose’s energetics are cool, dry, & lax. As a nervine, rose is calming & comforting. I often turn to rose in times where I feel overwhelmed, and need some protection. I think of rose as an emotional protector. Rose bushes in the wild offer protection to smaller beings due to their thorns, and I believe they offer us this same thing. 🥀 Rose is also a skin healer. Its cooling nature makes it specially helpful in times of inflammation and heat. Rose petals are a vulnerary astringent, excellent for wound healing of skin. Due to its drying action, it’s helpful to dry and heal wet wounds when applied topically. P.S. Writing these captions has me reflecting on the fact that we often put herbs in a box. Saying an herb is “good for” stress. But in reality, plants are so versatile. There are so many ways to work with these plants - we just have to be patient enough to learn their medicine.🌹
