just remember make the nursing home fun for yourself.. play cards, do some of their activities as dumb as they might seem,gotogroup events like group games. learn to laugh at some of thestuff you see or hear. I remember being in the nursing home and they put me on the dementia wing. one night there was a resident screaming onions!I laughed did he want onions, hate onions, ECT.lol. so look for simple joys it will help make the time to go by faster

From a PT who worked in a nursing home and with kiddos, take a breath. This is not the best scenario, but like you said you are being managed and cared for, for now. I am hoping they can get you into a rehab facility. You got this

The rehab my mom was at was actually a nursing home and a rehab it was a great place The room was huge and set up for 2 people but they only allowed 1 patient per room and used the extra bed for friends and family.

As a mother myself I want to tell you something. You are enough. You are enough as you are, all of your medical diagnoses physical and mental are just that and are not you deep in your soul. You are an amazing individual! God has huge plans for you my friend. Use this time to rest and heal as much as you can to save some energy. Let the people there take care of you and prepare your body for your spinal surgery. Keep going, you are inspiring little people who are just like you!

my nephew has this and hes not physically limited except his bladder got an overhaul and it affects how he uses bathroom. he also has some mental disabilities for it...yes he has same thing as you. plug in his tummy. but he has his own place works etc.
