Honestly, nakaka-disappoint na talaga ang PBB Pinoy Big Brother ABS-CBN ngayon. We thought this show was created to give ordinary Filipinos a chance to be seen, heard, and known by the people. We thought it was a place where normal people, with their own stories, struggles, and dreams, could finally have an opportunity to shine, regardless of their fame, connections, or popularity. But looking at the lineup now, it feels like 1% ORDINARY PEOPLE AND 99% PEOPLE WHO ARE ALREADY FAMILIAR AND KNOWN IN THE MEDIA. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with giving celebrities or people with previous exposure a chance to join. But ISN'T THE WHOLE POINT OF PBB TO DISCOVER NEW FACES AND GIVE OPPORTUNITIES TO PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF BEING IN THE SPOTLIGHT? There are so many ordinary Filipinos out there with inspiring stories, genuine personalities, and dreams worth sharing. People who deserve to be given a chance, people who have never experienced being recognized, and people who could have shown us a different kind of reality. What makes it more disappointing is that we genuinely expected something different. We expected to see people we could relate to, people who represent ordinary Filipino life, and people who would remind us that you don't need to be famous to deserve an opportunity. But now, it feels like even a show that was supposed to open doors for ordinary people is becoming another platform for familiar faces. PBB, WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER SHOW FULL OF PEOPLE WE'VE ALREADY SEEN IN THE MEDIA. WE WANT TO DISCOVER PEOPLE WE'VE NEVER MET, HEAR STORIES WE'VE NEVER HEARD, AND WITNESS ORDINARY INDIVIDUALS FINALLY GETTING THEIR MOMENT TO SHINE. Because honestly, what is the point of calling it an opportunity for ordinary people if the people who already have the spotlight keep getting more chances to stand in it? Nakakalungkot lang because some people have been dreaming of this opportunity for years, hoping that one day they could be chosen and finally show the world who they are. Yet, it makes you wonder if being ordinary is still enough to be given a chance. We wanted a season that would introduce us to new people, not another season where most of the faces already feel familiar.
