@lachie_koh: Just a mall in Singapore? đ¤¯đ¸đŦ The Star Vista in Buona Vista is an open-air shopping mall known for its striking curved architecture, cascading terraces and amphitheatre-style design. A reminder that sometimes the most impressive places are hiding in plain sight. Have you been here before? đ #Singapore #StarVista #SingaporeArchitecture #ExploreSingapore #sglife

Well, I like that there are a lot of seats. You can hang out with friends without paying for anything. But it is a rather boring mall.

Owned by New Creation Church where its prosperity message deserves to be challenged as consumerism dressed in Christian language: when wealth and success become signs of divine favour, religion risks blessing the very materialism it should confront. Joseph Princeâs teaching should face hard questions about whether its comforting promises give sufficient weight to sacrifice, suffering and responsibility towards the poor. Worshippers who applaud institutional riches as evidence of Godâs approval should examine whether they are seeking spiritual truth or religious reassurance for their ambitions. Rock Productionsâ S$296 million acquisition of The Star Vista makes that question unavoidable. A property portfolio proves purchasing power; it establishes no moral authority. When followers answer scrutiny with defensiveness and treat a preacherâs popularity as proof that he is right, they risk becoming customers protecting a brand rather than believers examining its teachings. A church should be able to explain why its accumulation of wealth serves its mission without expecting applause merely because it can afford a shopping mall.
