It depends on how self aware you are imo. The more you are, the less it works, at least in my experience

honestly, im pretty self aware of who i am and whats going on w me so it doesnt help necessarily in that sense, but it is nice having someone to talk to. especially since im very self centered, talking about myself for a good hour is very refreshing. so, ultimately, if you are self aware, no it really

Not even kidding it saved my life. But it didn’t help until I was ready for it to help. After that, my life truly changed for the better

kind of? I only started it this year and it was kinda working but then I got a new therapist so I kind of had to start over in a way? also depends on the level of self awareness you have with your own issues because sometimes theyre not fixable in that way

for sure, especially if it has less of a connection to parents, the older you get the more privacy you’ll have with your therapist! :D

You’ve genuinely got to be ready for big change and up lay the darkest parts of yourself out to a stranger. Obviously that not something people do in the first session or anything but if you aren’t ready to genuinely go and speak to someone and tell them the full honest truth about yourself then it’s really not gonna be that helpful

it feels nice to feel understood and sometimes it’s like she’s the only one who cares which makes you feel less alone, it’s good to say out loud how you feel to someone, Also we play games tg and we both like writing so she gives me things to write about to express myself

it took us almost 3 years to properly figure out what I was struggling with and to create solutions and let me tell you I've never felt so relieved

IMO It’s good if you want to take a intentional step into getting help. From there it’s lot of figuring out what’s right and “healing” to you, and what you’re willing to share to them and how they help you. Mine listened, helped me vent, and figure out what I was running away from, and what I can do to help figure out the next steps (she asked me alot of questions that made me face what I was avoiding). Overall, I think it’s a great resource to utilize.

It can help a lot!! Especially if you get along with your therapist. More comfortable you are with them, the better your experience and comfortability is. Don’t settle for a therapist you don’t feel connected with and confident with sharing your thoughts.

absolutely. ive been diagnosed, medicated, and taken care of since I reached out for help. I now know why I am the way I am, and I can say these disgusting things and know why I do, and know they understand.
