@irislauber4: bake a homemade chocolate cake! preheat oven to 350⁰ and butter and flour two 8 inch cake pans. one big bowl, no mixer required. 3 cups sugar 3 eggs 12 ounces buttermilk 2/3 cup vegetable oil 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 3 cups AP flour 2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 1.5 cups of best quality cocoa powder 1 tsp salt 12 ounces brewed coffee add first 5 ingredients to the bowl and mix very well, sift dry ingredients together and pour into wet mixture one third at a time and add about half of the coffee each time, stirring until everything is well incorporated but not over stirred, end with last batch of dry ingredients. stir in well, divide into two pans and bake for 45-50 mins. The toothpick should come out clean. allow to cool in pans 15 mins and remove. allow to fully cool before icing or ..just eat it plain, it's so good.
