abdoji :

to be honest subaru has had great improvement from being a helpless coward to a person worth depending on but don't down play other people's achievements eren is more complex than subaru his motives other than the revenge aspect are not relatable but rudues forexample I would say as a character he had better improvement he went from a shitty loser a low life whose life was spent rotting with lust and disdain changed it all around he acknowledged that he fucked up badly but he got a second chance and he did everything to redeem him self yeah no one in the new world knew what he did but he knew and that was enough and the guilt in knowing so kept him going further and further to improve himself not even talking about rudues as his origin his goals are great he wants to protect the people he loves and even sacrifice his life for them but some people will tell me but subaru sacrificed him self countless of times and yes that is an extremely good argument but when I think about character improvement I think at where they were and where they are now and in this context rudues is a better character than subaru I dont hate subaru at all i love him i have rezero in my top 2 right behind one piece at 1 but mushoku tensei is top 6 but its not even about the ranking I just really think rudues had a terrible start like the worst start and he made something great and respectable out of it
