@sportssplugg1: One week after taking down No. 2 Notre Dame and finally getting the national respect it fought for, BYU rose to No. 2 itself—only to drop a 39–31 double-overtime heartbreaker to an unranked 4–3 UCF squad. UCF earned the first top-five win in program history, stepping up in the second overtime with a touchdown and a crucial two-point conversion. BYU had the ball down to the UCF 4-yard line on their final possession, but Bear Bachmeier's fourth-down pass fell incomplete to end it. Losing a double-overtime battle on the road during a chaotic weekend doesn't erase the fight BYU showed against Notre Dame, and UCF deserves legitimate credit for making the winning plays. But if you want to be treated like an elite national-title contender, you cannot hand all that hard-earned momentum right back seven days later. Is BYU still a real national championship threat, or did they give away their spot? #CollegeFootball #byufootball #ucffootball #big12 #cfb
