@kiahaishealing: POV: People forget the word CHRONIC in chronic illness. 🎗️ Yes, I’m in pain AGAIN. Yes, I’m canceling plans AGAIN. Yes, I’m exhausted AGAIN. Imagine how tired you are of hearing about my endometriosis… now imagine how tired I am of living with it. 🙃💛 Endo warriors, I know you get it. #Endometriosis #EndoWarrior #EndoTok #ChronicIllness #InvisibleIllness
I’m so bad all weekend with a flare up the pains down my legs it hurts to walk 🤦♀️

I think a lot of people are under the misconception that endo only causes pain/symptoms during your cycle. I really think they should rename it like they did with PMOS/PCOS so people don’t just think it’s a period problem

Like we in pain everyday. We just become desensitized to it. So the fact that when we do say out loud we're in pain ...we in severe pain

So true, I’m two months post op and everyone around me thought it was just going to be the end of my illness, I was like no yall like they cut stuff out and I do a lot feel better most days, but it’s still a forever thing

I’ve started telling people to just view it as incurable cancer. Would you say “again?” to someone with incurable cancer? No, because it’s incurable. Same same but different

I fear the response when I recover from my hysterectomy; I imagine it will help a lot… but it’s not an end-solution, and people are already saying things like this ^^ to me

Or “so the surgery didn’t work?” no matter how many times I’ve said surgery was never a “cure” and it will keep growing back 🙃

“Didn’t you JUST have surgery?” As in two months post op. I’ve still not recovered from it and my cycles are WORSE. The look on their faces makes me want to scream and I LOATHE having to answer when people ask me “how are you?” 🫠

Yup, everyone always expects you to eventually “get better” with surgery or time but for some it’s just keeps getting worse and worse overtime no matter what you do. Feels like having a curse.

I'm not even a week post-op and there are people in my life already expecting me to miraculously become a fully functional person because I must be 'cured' and I only have small incisions so healing 'can't possibly take more than three days'.

“Wow you really seem to be struggling” as an entire statement and I never responded bc wtf do you even say? I’m beyond exhausted of explaining myself to people that fail to grasp the concept of CHRONIC in chronic pain/illness😭

after having three surgeries, the most common phrase I hear during a flare is "but you had surgery. I thought you were fixed."

So legit! Also just when I think I have a handle on my endo, it’s like ha I am back to haunt you some more. It never ends

Exactly… sometimes it felt like: you can be sick but not “too” sick. It’s so difficult to juggle social judgement while also dealing with a chronic illness 😢 I had to learn to live in my own truth but it’s still hard
