“I hate Singaporean men.” When did hating men become so normal? Social media has made casual contempt for men fashionable. Mockery gets laughs. Outrage gets clicks. And algorithms keep feeding us content that fuels resentment between men and women. But who really pays the price? There is nothing wrong with expecting men to be responsible, emotionally mature, and accountable. But there is a difference between holding men to higher standards and treating an entire sex with contempt. When hatred becomes normalised, trust becomes harder. Cynicism replaces openness. And women themselves may lose out on the very relationships, love, marriage, and family life that bring lasting meaning. Misandry is not female empowerment. And hating men is not solidarity. We can demand better from men without learning to despise them. 💬 Has social media normalised hatred towards men? Follow @regardless.sg for more perspectives on gender, relationships, and society.
