@ratiovictim: Joe Yabuki stands as anime and manga history's ultimate anti-hero, representing a raw, uncompromising rejection of societal norms. Born into the lowest tier of post-war Japanese society, his character is defined not by a desire for traditional success, glory, or wealth, but by a desperate, existential need to assert his own identity on his own terms. At his core, Joe is a study in psychological defense mechanisms. Raised as a neglected orphan, he views the world through a lens of deep-seated mistrust. He weaponizes arrogance and delinquency to keep others at a distance, preferring to hurt people before they can hurt him. When boxing enters his life, it does not magically reform him into a traditional hero; instead, the sport becomes a canvas for his self-destructive intensity. #relatable #relatableanime #joeyabuki #ashitanojoe #sad
