No, you’re wrong, i don’t think Takemichi was just Baji’s replacement nor do I think they partners, just because Chifuyu kept his secret. Chifuyu really was loyal to Takemichi in every timeline, even when Takemichi chose the wrong path ordering to k!ll Hina, Chifuyu followed him, he was there whenever Takemichi went, whatever he said Chifuyu did everything.
