You can now pick who double-checks Claude Code. You know those constant "Allow this?" popups? Auto mode skips most of them for you. But something still checks each action first. 👇 READ BELOW What it is: Claude Code is Anthropic's tool that works on your computer's files for you, and auto mode lets it go ahead without asking you every time. A reviewer model quietly checks whether each action should be allowed, and the new update lets you choose which model does that job in client-side auto mode (the version running on your machine). I haven't run it yet, so this comes from the post, not from my own testing. How to use it: 1. Update Claude Code so you have the latest version. 2. Check the release notes to find where the new reviewer setting lives. 3. Pick the model you want checking actions in client-side auto mode. 4. Leave your coding model alone, because this setting doesn't change it. Why it matters: You get a bit more control over the safety check without touching the model that does your actual work. Your server-side auto mode settings stay the same too, so changing one doesn't mess up the other. Why not: If you never use auto mode, skip this, and my guess is you'd want to be careful about picking a weaker reviewer, since that model is your safety check. From the Claude Code changelog, v2.1.302. One Claude Code tip a day: follow so you don't miss one. Save this for the next time you turn on auto mode.
