STORYTIME: One month since I said YES. 💍 It’s been a month since we got engaged, and until now, I still find myself reliving that day over and over again. So, here’s the story of how what I thought would be a simple birthday celebration turned into one of the most unforgettable days of our lives. It was your birthday, and we decided to go to Lake Geneva to explore the area and spend some quality time together before our family lunch later that day. We were just walking along the pathway, enjoying the lake and the beautiful nature around us. Little did I know, habang ako nag-e-enjoy lang sa view, ikaw pala, you were secretly looking for the perfect spot to propose. We were already walking for about 30 minutes, and honestly, nagrereklamo pa ako kasi tinatamad na akong maglakad nang malayo. I had absolutely NO IDEA. No clue. Not even the slightest suspicion that the day was about to change our lives forever. Then you showed me a video and said we should recreate the content. Which was already unusual because, let’s be honest, ako naman talaga ang mahilig mag-content sa ating dalawa. Hahaha. Ikaw pa talaga ang may pa-content that day! When you finally found the perfect spot, you asked me to set up the camera, syempre kasi kapag ikaw tabingi yung video for sure. 🤣 You knew that my dream proposal didn't need a crowd—just simple, sincere, and intimate. In that moment, it was beautifully just us. I was just thinking we were filming another cute memory together. Little did I know, the video I was setting up would become one of the most precious videos we would ever have. I was literally helping set up my own proposal video without knowing it. And if you watch the video, you can see exactly how shocked I was. I always thought my reaction would be tears and a very demure ‘OMG, yes!,' but it turned out completely different. Hahaha! I guess that’s what happens when you’re caught totally off guard. Everything felt so surreal. Parang my mind couldn’t process what was happening in real time. It was one of those moments when you know something beautiful is happening, but your heart needs a little more time to catch up. Because right in front of me was my man, my best friend, the person behind my smile, asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. The man who chose a beautiful ring to symbolize his commitment to me. The man who made his birthday even more unforgettable by asking me to become his wife someday. And without a second thought about how I looked, what I was wearing, or whether I was ready for the camera, my heart knew one thing: it was always you. You said my "yes" was the best birthday gift ever, but you gave me more than a moment I could treasure forever—you gave me a lifetime. ♾️ If I could go back to that exact moment, I would relive it a thousand times over. Not because of the ring, the location, or even the surprise itself, but because of you, my person, the man I prayed for. After four years of being together, choosing each other through distance, waiting, and all the moments in between, we’re finally entering a new chapter of our lives.
