Istighfaar as referred to in the Qur’an and hadith is our tawbah, the way we seek forgiveness from Allah and beg for His mercy. It‘s our tears in dua, the regrets in our hearts, and the resolve to give up our sins. The person who habitually begs for Allah’s forgiveness is promised everything mentioned in the video and more, in’sha’allah. 2.) The sheikh goes on to mention later in the recording that these rewards and promises are only for those who sincerely commit themselves to istighfaar because of shame of their sins. These blessings are however not guaranteed for the individual who just wants divine assistance and an easy life, and doesn’t really do istighfaar for his or her forgiveness. When you do istighfaar, rectify your intentions. The end goal is our forgiveness and Allah’s mercy and pleasure, not so our dunya can be easy.
