I remember clearly the words I heard when I arrived at Benning in 1985. Drill Sargent came on the bus and simply said,”you all have 10 seconds to get off my bus, and 5 of them are already gone!”

there's a reason why if you are a Marine that you can go to any other branch of service without going through there bootcamp but if you want to go into the Marines you have to go through Marine corps bootcamp! Semper Fi!

Army boot camp wasn’t like that when I went through. They screamed get off my bus and then the DS on the ground outside the bus directed you to the proper place , yelling the whole time. Then you went through the process the whole time

I got the shark attack in 1983 at Ft.McClellan , i can guarantee you it was worse than both of these videos. The shark attack is the equivalent of going to a packed auditorium and yelling "Fire", probably the reason they stopped doing it. I survived it and thrived in basic, they might want to bring it back.

Had a cadre of ds outside the bus pacing like wolves waiting for the cycle to begin. Never dull moment once we exited the bus. Actually look back at it with fondness and cheer.
