I’ve been a cna for 20 years I’ve always felt like I could take the test and be a nurse

They sit for the NCLEX-PN, it's not the same test as RN. Misleading post.

Over 10 years ago, I got my LVN using method 3. I'm still working at my 1st LVN job. I am an RN now. It worked for me 🤪

No it’s not VERY rigorous, it’s LPN , not RN. If you are CNA & years experience- hands on then it’s possible to pass

I’ve been a CNA for 20+ years. Spent most of that time in ICU/Critical Care. I could take this and pass this.

It's called challenging the board. LVNs can do it too. Really anyone with extensive clinical knowledge and bedside time. It’s rare and in my 30 years I’ve never met anyone has done it.

Med/surg taught me a lot. If we learn & obtain the skills then I am all for a CNA challenging the board. Many of us hold several certifications which come in handy too.

a lot of the NAs that I work with that have been there for 48+ months for sure would be safer than some of the new grads we get.

The only scenario that I think someone should be able to get an RN license without going to nursing. school, should be foreign doctors who come here and do not meet the requirements without having to go through medical school and residency all over again. as long as they've had some experience as a physician and whatever country they are from. this way, they can get some RN experience while going through NP school, for example.

That shouldn't be the case however LPNs with that type of extensive experience and IV training I think should be able to sit for RN NCLEX because there is very little RNs can do that LPNs can't some of which isn't even done in labs for the RN programs that could easily be done for ceu credits nurses need anyway
