@browneyedgurl801: For a little boy named Liam Sachs, learning to walk and say his first words meant more than just growing up. Every new milestone was something special for his family. Before Liam was even born, his parents, Hannah and Gabriel, learned he had a rare condition called encephalocele, where brain tissue and fluid can bulge through an opening in the skull. Born in March 2023, Liam spent 13 days in intensive care. Then, at just one month old, he needed surgery to drain excess fluid building up in his brain. But his biggest operation came in September 2023. At Cincinnati Children's Hospital in Ohio, surgeons Dr. Jesse Skoch and Dr. Brian Pan performed an 11-hour operation to repair the encephalocele and rebuild parts of his skull and face. Although the surgery was successful, Liam was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at ten months old, affecting his movement and coordination. Still, with ongoing therapy and family support, he kept making progress, little by little. By October 2025, at age two, Liam was walking independently, saying words like “mama” and “dada,” and eating without a feeding tube. For his parents, every one of those milestones was a victory worth celebrating.
