Rescue Diary: Saving a Kitten with Pneumonia 🐱🚑 This little one is about 20 days old, and today marks day 2 of treatment. I tried my absolute best to keep it on oxygen 24/7, but the trip to the vet made that impossible. Yesterday I rented an oxygen machine from the clinic, and today I panic-ordered a home unit on Meituan. It's not as good as the hospital gear, but hey, better than nothing! The doctor still had to help with peeing today because the kitten is just too weak to go on its own. On top of that, we're feeding 2ml of canned food every 2 hours, doing subcutaneous fluids, giving some water, and keeping the heating pad on non-stop. Also got the anti-inflammatory shots This kitten has such a strong will to live! Even being so weak, it's still willing to eat. By evening, things looked way better — had enough strength to crawl around and even meowed a couple of times! Still can't pee or poop on its own though. Tried lactulose but no luck... the vet said if there's no movement by tomorrow, we'll have to do an enema. 🐱 Yesterday afternoon, the vet thought it was too weak to last much longer, but this little stinker is tough! Seeing so much improvement today. Huge thanks to the vet for everything. Since it's a stray, they gave me a discount and even threw in free pee pads.
