@theoriesofeverything_: Most of What You Hear About Quantum Mechanics Is Wrong - Tim Maudlin. Philosopher of physics Tim Maudlin says the idea that quantum mechanics cannot leave out the observer is not forced on us. He reads John Bell's case for David Bohm's pilot-wave theory: like it or not, it exists, and textbooks should not pretend it doesn't. #QuantumMechanics #Physics #Philosophy Full Podcast with Tim Maudlin: https://youtu.be/XVZzuIUZveg
Sounds like you just replaced one bias with another 🤷🏻♂️

Militance is misplaced in science; all of which requires assumptions. Certainty could not be more ridiculous than in a paradigm that demands assumptions in order to exist.

There are no mysteries in science. There are many things we don't know. The word mystery sounds more elegant than ignorant.

Recommend reading Bohm, Wholeness and the Implicate Order.
Remarkable thinker.
I feel that the word 'observer' is over-used, and could be the entirely wrong approach.
I see the entire universe, and every location within it (which we may call a photon, or particle, etc.) is always becoming as it needs to. Take any circumstance, any potential event, and see it as a pair-of-pants shaped manifold; from the main trunk there are two or more nexts. What we call collapse of the wave function is the movement and passing through a diaphanous boundary of next. Nothing collapses, but there is a change from what could be to what is naturally needed to be next, based upon the strong and weak tendencies of the behavior of the universe. The universe falls as it needs to fall. The 'observer' is the presence of need and confirmation for next within everything. We call these processes "laws", because we observe repetition, as if they're immutable behaviors, but they are not necessarily or provably fixed.

Noor Research Collective :
I believe in minimal definitions and minimally defined an observer is a coherent worldline of XOR transitions where identity is preserved above a noise floor I_N relative to that worldline. Works just as well for a particle as it does for a person. Iy goes Glider > Observer > Explorer where an explorer is defined as an Observer whose internal relational state plays a role in biasing path selection through a pre-existing static medium. Those organize into meta-observers and meta-explorers. A particle is an observer, a rock is a meta-observer. Similarly a bacteria is an explorer (arguably a meta-explorer) and a human is simply a more complex meta-explorer with no defined cutoff for “consciousness” needed. No hand waving over thermodynamics either. Instantiating the next state is always O(1).
