AGIBOT X2 humanoid robot goes from standing to lying on the floor in less than two seconds. And then the humans have to step in. The video shows the X2 standing inside an office. Its knees suddenly bend, the body drops backward, and the robot lands on the carpet with its arms spread out. Several people approach, hold its head and torso, and begin handling its legs while it remains on the floor. I noticed how quickly the legs folded before the body hit the ground. There was very little time for a recovery movement. AGIBOT's X2 is a compact humanoid robot developed for entertainment, human interaction and dynamic movements. But this clip shows another side of humanoid robotics. Balance control depends on coordinated movements across the hips, knees, ankles and torso. When the center of mass moves outside the available support area, the controller must react quickly enough to prevent a fall. Once a robot is on the ground, joint torque, unexpected movement and human intervention also become safety concerns. The footage doesn't establish what caused this fall. There is no evidence here to identify a software failure, actuator problem or emergency shutdown.
