Move whatever’s left in my checking to savings the night before payday, it’s never much but it’s adding up

When I paid off a car loan, I continued to set aside/save the same amount in a savings account.

I never spend my income tax money. I just save it every year. Been doing that for about 10 years now.

I made a savings account were $10 come out my main account every week. I don’t see it so I don’t have the urge to spend it. But that eventually adds up. I also have another savings account set up where money goes when I get paid that way I budget the money I see for bills and other things. Easier for you to say no if you see you don’t have enough to do things that’s not important

If you have a small family of three or less, shop weekly for groceries and eat everything in the fridge before shopping again. It forces you to buy only what you need and eat what you have. 🌸

Enjoy my house that I pay too much rent for instead of going outside. Decided to go out yesterday with a friend. $34 for breakfast and coffee, $200 on trinkets I didn’t need, she bought me a drink but it would have been $20 for the drink. Also went out two nights for dinner and drinks and it was $180 I’m done the food isn’t even good out there

In January, set a goal. Subject the goal by the number of pay period you have. Save that amount, in CASH, in a 'special' container each pay period. After about 4 deposits, count it. Once you get a thousand saved, it's very motivating!! I would count mine about once every couple of months. At the end of the year, deposit it, keep it in another special container (start over the following year), or buy what you were saving for. Doing this, I paid cash off, new roof, new windows/patio door, new siding/exterior paint! So gratifying! ♥️

No matter how small save something out of every check! Put it away in a high yields savings and forget about it. Make saving a part of the budget like its a bill.

Pay myself (savings)first!! And stopped impulse buying. I now place things in my cart and come back 24-hours later, if I still want it I will get it. Most of the time, I forget about it.
