so this should probably be done during winter dormancy correct? could do this to mimic a Niwaki style bend to a Japanese maple couldn't i instead of having to do a slow bend? do multiple turns on scsffold branches creating some character

Is root hormone not something to apply? Serious question or rather dumb question. I’ve never done this. But it would make sense to my smooth brain. Applying it to the section that touch as they are squeezed back together
