I don’t understand why people think that prisoners should be essentially tortured. Like they’re called correctional facilities. Why aren’t they just making you learn life skills and seeing psychologists all damn day? My version of prison wouldn’t be torture it’d just be annoying and filled with classes and debate about why they’re there and how they can change to make their lives better?

Lot of people don’t go to jail for serious crimes. Some people are homeless and were caught trespassing at parks or people doing tax evasion or fraud are also imprisoned. Some people are waiting for court dates for crime they were accused of but didn’t do and can’t avoid bail to wait until a certain time to just be proven innocent. Not everyone is a serial killer or a rapist.
