My question is. Why are there so many psych patients? There will never be enough psych hospitals, rooms or nurses. I work in an emergency department in Virginia. Within a 12 hour shift just on the peds side we had 10 patients check in for psych. We already had 6 in the rooms waiting to go to another facility. These patients need and deserve care, but the cause of the abundance should be looked into.

I got sent to a psych hospital in Virginia on a eoc a couple years back. I was freshly 18. It was completely against my will. I was there for 8 hours no one offered me food or water. A creepy old dude starred at me the entire time and I got threatened by another female patient. Scariest shit of my life fr. Never experienced something worse and I’ve been homeless numerous times. Virginia is such a bad state for mental health.

They send the psych patients off to state hospitals like Central State Hospital in and Eastern State Hospital. Both of these hospitals are located in Virginia.

Yea I was fired 7 yrs ago because I was attacked by a patient! I walked away and threw all those yrs in college away, and i detured my daughter from continuing a nurseing career,she now work as a gait clerk checking in trucks to load and makes more than nurseing and can cuss like a trucker!Nurseing is a blame game!
