Even Modern day Mexico isn’t a natural border . The Mēxihcah didn’t rule all of the country of modern day Mexico. It was conquered by the Spanish. The Spanish conquered the land that was “stolen” too! The Zuni, Navajo, Hopi, Nez Perce peoples were never part of the Aztec (Mēxihcah) empire. It was claimed for the Spanish Empire. And when Mexico got its independence from Spain, it became part of the Mexican Empire.
