May I suggest changing the term from “basic” to “fundamental”? I feel like many believe that these acts are simple - but relationships take effort and commitment, consideration. A strong foundation is necessary to build a stable building, and I feel like the effort to create that strong foundation is under-appreciated as “bare minimum”. Sure, you shouldn’t praise someone for being a decent human being or meeting this “basic” foundation, but it is also not something that should be simply taken for granted.

There's this coffee passport to discover new coffee places in my city, and the guy I'm dating always make sure to get a different coffee than I do so that I get to try more flavours. Found out the other day he doesn't gaf about coffee and is just getting them bc I enjoy them so much but can't drink two in one outing 😭 it's such a small gesture but I think it says a lot about him
