I had to sit in the dark for 30 minutes by myself, crying after I finish this book

Speaking of father-son stories!!! The Road is so good. Great movie too. And damn, you spoke so well about this novel, I’m impressed. The Road can quite easily sit in memory as a depressing void, but I love that view on caretaking you shared. That type of love is even more beautiful in this setting. Great review!

One of the best books I’ve ever read, undoubtedly- I’ve never seen it sort of looped in with Lonesome Dove, but I totally see it. Both are incredible and changed my perspective forever

When I finished this book, I wanted 3 things: a paper map of the United States, a really good mountain bike, and a gun. This is my survival kit.

My intro to McCarthy and I was hooked. Right now I’m rereading Blood Meridian because I love the prose.

@Rufus Cogburn: One of the most embarrassing moments of my life was the guy next to me on a plane complimenting me on reading this. I said how McCarthy always uses words I don’t know, like “catamite.” I should have looked that word up first. 🤦♂️
